..."Batter up! And its Darynda Jones up next, let's see if she can get a hit out of this Pitcher. Here comes the throw, and she connects! Its going, going, its a Homerun!"Haha, please excuse my lame anecdote, but I was trying to portray how good this book was to me. Darynda J is the batter, the pitcher is...well me, the reader, and her hit is the book. Now that I got that all straightened out, yeah right, on to the reviewing. As you might have already figured out, I loved this book. It grabbed me from page one and kept me interested until the very lat sentence.Charley is working on a new case, well a couple since she can't find Reyes. Oh Mr. Reyes Farrow, sttuborn, son of Satan, Big Bad, resident of Charley's Heart Dr #666, and Hot as Hell(Literally), man/being extraordinare. There was not nearly enough of you in this book. This is probably my only complaint, because eventhough I wanted more Reyes, the book was still awesome.Just like in the first book, I love the humor. It is heavy and Charley is just as sarcastic as ever, just how I like her. Cookie was a very big part of the book and she was a very nice sidekick. Charley and her compliment each other very well. All the Main characters are also back, Ubie, Charley's family, Angel, Rock Man,etc. And slowly but surely, the new case starts unraveling. After a few murder attempts, lots of Rey teasing, some tears and a few a TON of sarcastic comments and come backs mostly from Charley, some self and Reyes discoveries, we hit the ending of the book.*Sigh* And what a great book it was...I also loved the chapter titles, they were all from tee shirts or bumper stickers frases and made me snort or laugh or giggle everytime.I can't wait to read the next installment, which if I'm not mistaken comes out Feb 2012. And I'm hoping for alot more writting from Mrs. Darynda Jones.
